What type of plan is the National Pension Fund?
The National Pension Fund is a multi-employer, defined benefit pension plan.

What is a Defined Benefit Plan?
A defined benefit plan provides participants who meet the plan's vesting criteria with a specific monthly benefit.

How many National Pension Fund participants are there?
As of 1/1/2005, there were 68,286 active participants.

How many people are receiving NPF retirement benefits?
As of January 2006, over 40,000 people were receiving retirement benefits. The total benefits paid for the month was over $29 million.

How is the National Pension Fund funded?
Funding for the Plan comes comes entirely from employer contributions and investment earnings.

Who manages the Fund's assets?
Professional investment managers manage the assets of the Fund in accordance with investment guidelines established by the Board of Trustees.

Who are the Trustees?
There are eight Trustees equally divided between Union and Employer.
Union Trustees: Michael Sullivan - Chairman, Kenneth Alexander, Paul Collins, and Marc Norberg
Employer Trustees are: Ronald Palmerick - Co-Chairman, Bruce Stockwell, Phil Meyers, and R. Dean Steward.

Who manages the Fund's day-to-day operations?
The Board of Trustees is responsible for overseeing the Fund's operations and performance. The Fund Administrator oversees the day-to-day operations, which includes the third party administration services provided to the Fund.
